Hope you don’t mind, but I thought I would write about a memory I helped make today. Because school is out for summer, we are charged with taking care of our 5 year old Granddaughter during the day while her parents work.
I have been trying to lose weight since the holidays and taking walks is a part of that plan. Since we started watching Piper, she has been accompanying me on my walks. She is a pleasure to have along and is a wise for her age. Today, while on our walk, she started picking up the trash she found on the side of the road and talking about making the earth green. I was floored for the moment to see how important it seemed to her to make a difference.
I don’t think I have ever been more proud of her as I was at that moment, so I told her to put it down for now because there too much to pick up without a bag. I said that tomorrow on our walk, we would bring a trash bag and start picking up the garbage on our route. She seemed pleased as punch over that suggestion. So my granddaughter and I have a date to help beautify our neighborhood tomorrow. I actually find myself excited to go on our walk. For a change, it will actually be a fun walk and not something I’m doing to loose weight. I can’t wait!!!
